Founded in 1987, the AXIS Dance Company strives for the integration of contemporary dance and disability culture.  AXIS was a pioneer in the development of a powerful contemporary dance form -- physically-integrated dance -- performing in more than 60 cities nationwide, as well as in Europe and Siberia.  AXIS provides education/outreach programs "Dance Access" and "Dance Access/KIDS!"which offer events for adults and youths of all abilities, locally and on tour.  The company offers professional-level training through classes, summer intensives, internships, and apprenticeships.

The Dancing Wheels Company & School is one of America's first integrated dance companies, comprised of professional dancers with and without disabilities.  The mission of the organization is to create and present compelling works from nationally esteemed choreographers and to utilize this new art form to educate, advocate, and entertain audiences throughout the world.  The organization presents master classes, residencies, school assembly programs, workshops, story ballets, and main stage concert performances.  In addition, there are weekly dance classes and summer dance workshops for dancers of all experience levels.

GIMP is a 70-minute dance event featuring both disabled and non-disabled performers, with original and live music.  GIMP creates a tangible sensuality, a touch of voyeurism, and a new frame of reference as both performers and audiences are acutely aware of being watched.  Performances include talkbacks.

Heidi Latsky Dance developed an outreach component for communities, public schools, and universities.

Infinity Dance Theater is a dance company committed to expanding the boundaries of dance by featuring dancers with and without disabilities.  In addition to performances across the country and around the world, Infinity has developed curricula for training ballet and modern dance educators to work with dancers using wheelchairs.  Other educational activities include weekly dance classes, master classes, lecture demonstrations, workshops, and educational programming at public schools.

The International Center on Deafness and the Arts (ICODA) provides education, training, and artistic opportunities for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing, through participation in and observation of professional artistic endeavors.  Opportunities with ICODA include theatre, arts festivals, museums, dance, distance learning, and children’s programming.

Karen Peterson and Dancers Inc., founded in 1989, is a nonprofit dance organization dedicated to the development, education, and presentation of dance through workshops and performances.  The company’s repertory is performed by dancers with and without disabilities, and an annual season of new work fosters creative opportunities for choreographers and dance artists within the community.  The organization creates and presents integrated dance, promotes International Cultural Exchange, and provides opportunities for Miami-based dance artists at Excello, the company’s black box performance venue.

The Tokounou Dance Company works with children and adults of all abilities to learn and perform African dance and music in schools, hospitals, and universities.  Participants learn to dance, sing, and play African rhythms on djembe drums and other instruments.
