Interagency Task Force on the Arts and Human Development
September 19, 2012 Webinar

The September 19, 2012, Task Force webinar focused on the question "Can the arts play a role in transforming struggling schools and improving student outcomes?" In this webinar, representatives from The Center for Arts Education (CAE) in New York City discussed findings from Department of Education Arts in Education Model Development & Dissemination (AEMDD) programs implemented in New York City and Chicago K-8 schools. CAE also shared findings of a study on the impact of arts education on student engagement and graduation in New York City public high schools. The presentations concluded with a seven-minute video highlighting the achievements of the AEMDD program.
