Quincy Jones has made extraordinary contributions to American music as a musician, composer, record producer, and arranger. He has traversed virtually every medium, including records, live performance, movies, and television. During five decades in the entertainment industry, Jones has earned a record 79 Grammy Award nominations, 27 Grammys, including a Grammy Legend Award in 1991. In 2008, he received an NEA Jazz Masters award. He is best known as the producer of Michael Jackson's Thriller album, which has sold over 110 million copies worldwide, and as the producer and conductor of the charity song "We Are the World."
