Chairman Rocco Landesman Releases the Schedule for His Visit to Philadelphia for March 2, 2010

Visit will be the latest stop on the "Art Works" tour across America

Washington, DC — In his latest stop on the Art Works tour across America, scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman will visit Philadelphia at the invitation of Jeremy Nowak, president and chief executive officer for The Reinvestment Fund and Professor Mark Stern, co-director of the Social Impact of the Arts Project. Chairman Landesman is in Philadelphia to learn more about the role of the arts in creating and sustaining livable communities. The day's events open to media are:

11:15 a.m.

 

Tour of Crane Arts galleries and artists' studios with developer David Gleeson and resident artists.
Location: 1400 North American Street

12:00 p.m  

 

Roundtable discussion on creativity and community with local artists, community arts organizations, and art entrepreneurs. Program begins at 12:30. Chairman Landesman will give opening remarks followed by an Arts Work discussion with attendees led by Jeremy Nowak.
Location: Crane Arts at 1400 North American Street

5:00–7:00 p.m.  

 

Panel discussion, "Arts and the City." The conversation with leading experts will focus on how the arts impact local and national economies and their potential to help rebuild them. Discussion to be followed by reception. Participants include:
