Today in Dallas, NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman joined a National Guard family to tour the Dallas Museum of Art, one of more than fifty-five Texas museums that have joined Blue Star Museums to date. Following the tour, Linda and Callie Fuller taped a video message about their museum trip to send to Callie's father, who is currently serving overseas.

"Blue Star Museums is a perfect way for museums and for the NEA to say thanks to the servicemen and women. It's also a great way for military families to celebrate Father's Day," said Landesman.

Blue Star Museums is a national partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and museums across the country to offer free admission to active duty military and their families between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2010.

Families looking for Father's Day ideas should consider some of the most recent museums to join the Blue Star Museums honor roll. The National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin, features rides on vintage, full-sized railroad equipment alongside the exhibit Pullman Porters: From Service to Civil Rights. Newlin Grist Mill in Concord Township, Pennsylvania is situated on 150 acres of nature preserve and is the state's only operating eighteenth century gristmill.
