WHAT:NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman and U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan will give remarks at the plenary session of the Arts Education Partnership Spring 2010 Forum. This is the first time in the 15-year history of the Arts Education Partnership that the current NEA Chairman and Secretary have appeared together at the Forum. Arts Education Partnership (AEP) is a federal agency partnership between the Arts Endowment and the U.S. Department of Education in cooperation with the Council of Chief State School Officers. AEP was created in 1995 in response to the Goals 2000: Educate America Act. AEP convenes national forums and serves as a clearinghouse for research and dissemination of national and state arts education policy. The AEP consortium includes more than 130 national organizations in the arts, education, government, and private-sector.
