The Arts Council (Martin County)

To support a grant program for county arts organizations and artists affected by Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. The proposed projects are designed to help maintain ongoing arts education and arts outreach programming.

Arts Council of Northwest Florida
Pensacola, FL
Period of support: April '05 - January '06
$10,000
To support a grant program for arts organizations suffering from the impact of Hurricane Ivan. This two-component project will enable mid-sized organizations to continue existing programs in arts education and audience development and offer larger organizations the ability to conduct facility damage assessments and make minor equipment repairs.

Arts & Humanities Council of Charlotte County
Port Charlotte, FL
Period of support: January '05 - December '06

To support a grant program to constituent artists and art organizations. A component of funding will provide scholarships to cultural organizations' staff and board members to attend leadership training designed to enhance management skills, including volunteer management, during the redevelopment period.

Brevard Cultural Alliance

Period of support: December '04 - March '05

To support a grant program to aid constituent cultural organizations affected by Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Jeanne. Funds will assist grantee organizations' ongoing program activities.

Lee County Alliance of the Arts
Fort Myers, FL
Period of support: September '04 - October '05
$20,000
To support a recovery plan that addresses property, staff, and revenue loss suffered by arts and cultural organizations damaged by hurricanes. Thirty-five organizations received funding.

Orlando Ballet
Orlando, FL
Period of support: January '05 - December '05
$10,000
To support repair and restoration of costumes, sets, and props; replacement of office furniture; and interior air cleanup, resulting from Hurricane Charley. Refurbishing over 5,000 costumes will be the largest component of the project.

Orange County Board of County Commissioners
Orlando, FL
Period of support: June '05 - December '06
$10,000
To support a grant program for constituent arts organizations. The Commission will include in its selection those organizations that provide arts to youth and underserved populations offering grants to support ongoing programming activity during the hurricane recovery period.

Palm Beach County Cultural Council
West Palm Beach, FL
Period of support: June '05 - March '06
$20,000
To support a grant program for constituent cultural organizations. A review panel will consider support for artist fees, interim space rental, and a range of programmatic activities.
