Montserrat College of Art
Beverly, Massachusetts, is a city of 38,500 on the North Shore, the coastal area between Boston and New Hampshire. The Montserrat College of Art, in partnership with the City of Beverly and Beverly Main Streets, is creating a master plan for an arts and cultural district in the city's downtown. The plan will establish a cohesive vision to align Beverly's arts assets and institutions to create a strong cultural identity for the city. Project activities include community outreach, alignment of concurrent city planning activities, an inventory of cultural resources, and an implementation strategy for the new district. The project partners will collaborate with a consultant team, including Community Partners Consultants and Urban Arts, to lead the planning effort intended to promote existing arts assets, and attract new artists and cultural venues to the downtown. The district will serve as a new arts and cultural destination for the residents of Beverly and many more regional visitors.
