Fort Worth Opera Association logo - the letters F W O P E R A

Fort Polk is one of the few Army bases in the country with a dedicated performing arts space, and the base was quite enthusiastic to host Great American Voices. The afternoon of April 22 got off to an entertaining and educational start with a performance of the children’s opera Jack and the Beanstalk at the Showboat Theatre. Approximately 200 children attended with their parents, who were profuse in their appreciation for the event. Later that night, Fort Worth Opera carried out their performance of "Bring Him Home," the show they created specifically for the military base tour, to a delighted audience that included students from the earlier activities.
