This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will serve 38 community theaters statewide and highlight existing talent, facilities, and resources by funding three comprehensive guides for shared use: 1) a directory of Alabama theaters, theater programs, and production resources; 2) a listing of plays by Alabama playwrights; and 3) a production resources listing of costumes, props, and set pieces available for rent or trade by other Alabama theaters.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will help produce and distribute a first-ever Alabama Literary Resources Directory of writers, writers' conferences, and schools and libraries who host visiting writers or run literary programs. Grants to Arkansas

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will fund a comprehensive community cultural assessment including questionnaires, focus groups and one-on-one interviews with residents. The assessment will gauge community perception of past cultural programs, identify the specific cultural needs and expectations of the community, and help create immediate and long-term plans.

Southwest Arkansas Arts Council Hope $10,000 This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will assist the Council and the city of Hope, Arkansas, in its Heritage Wall public art program. The Heritage Wall, a barrier wall separating the Union-Pacific Depot from the railroad track, honors the past by celebrating the central role that the railroad played in the evolution of Hope as a community. The wall is composed of three, 250-foot sections with sculptural metalwork and porcelain photographic tiles. Each section depicts the character and tradition of Hope, Arkansas.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will help revitalize Dover's 60-square-block downtown Historic District by funding a partnership among City of Dover Parks and Recreation, Sewell C. Biggs Museum of American Art, Main Street Dover, the Dover Arts Council, and the Dover Art League. Together, they will create a community cultural plan to improve the area and continue to attract visitors with arts programs.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will help the Newark Alliance work with the City of Newark to address the strengths of the downtown cultural community, plan for increased community involvement, and find ways that arts and culture may contribute to current downtown redevelopment.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will assist the Mayor and City Council of Wilmington in gathering input from residents and working in partnership with the Wilmington Arts Commission, the Arts Leaders Roundtable, Urban Environmental Center, Christina Cultural Arts Center, Opera Delaware, and Wilmington 2000. They will develop a shared vision for the arts and a cultural plan to aid the city's economic development, build community, and revitalize neighborhoods.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will fund the creation of a community cultural plan to build arts audiences, improve arts education in schools, increase multicultural programming, and help meet future community cultural needs. Partners include the Rehobeth Arts League, Possum Point Players, Second Street Players, Delaware Music School, El Centuro Cultural, the Southern Delaware Tourism and Convention Commission, and other arts organizations and individuals.

$5,000 A $5,000 ArtsREACH grant will allow the City Arts Commission of Boise to proceed with its cultural plan and help the Boise community take advantage of its art resources. With the grant, the Commission will develop, produce, and distribute the Treasure Valley Arts Resource Directory. This directory will include listings of arts groups, places, programs, and people in the Treasure Valley of Ada and Canyon Counties and provide a valuable resource to promote the arts.

A $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will support visual arts exhibitions at the Grassroots Art Center featuring "Outsider" regional artists whose work is an integral part of the cultural, historical and architectural past of Lucas. The Center will partner with city and county governments, planning and economic development offices, the Kansas Arts Commission, and the Garden of Eden -- which already houses a nationally significant "Outsider Art" collection.

This $5,000 ArtsREACH grant will fund a statewide survey of dance resources and grassroots dance education programs including a list of schools that partner with professional dancers or dance schools to teach dance. The survey will also look at the availability of performance and rehearsal space and other needs to form a plan to make dance more accessible throughout Montana.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will help bring together leaders and artists from the Crow, Northern Cheyenne, Blackfeet, Gros Ventre, and Meti tribes Ü many who live in rural areas and do not have vehicles or telephones -- to promote Native art and offer training or other economic development opportunities. The initiative will support a statewide inventory of five tribal communities' cultural resources (artists and their art forms, artworks, and presenting abilities) and produce a plan to present various art forms to a wider audience.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will support the creation of a community cultural plan to develop short- and long-term strategies to advance the arts in Edmond. An initial assessment will identify artists and existing cultural resources, determine the community's cultural needs, explore the feasibility of an arts center, and develop strategies for making Edmond "artist-friendly" through a city budget for public art and arts activities. The cultural plan follows up on the interest in the arts shown during a recent county-wide planning process related to all aspects of the community. Partners include: the Greenwood Museum, Greenwood Community Theatre, Greenwood Artists Guild, and Greenwood County.

This $10,000 ArtsREACH grant will support the development of a video about the culture of the Catawba Indian Nation including its special relationship to the landscape, for educational agencies, citizens' groups, chambers of commerce, and the Catawba Cultural Center. Tribal representatives will help oversee the video's production. Partners include: the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Tri-County School Districts, South Carolina Arts Commission, Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Districts, Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce Winthrop University, and both Rock Hill and South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism Divisions.

ARTT is a collaborative project using artist-mentors to teach activities of traditional Lakota culture including dancing, drumming, theater, as well as computer graphics and visual arts to help offer opportunities to Native American youth.
