To support the Florida African Dance Festival. The event will include dance and drum workshops taught by African immigrant artists representing Senegal, Guinea, Mali, and Cote d'Ivoire as well as a performance.

To support Journey Proud, a television series documenting various Alabama traditions. The 30-minute programs will feature Alabama artists based on the relevant research and fieldwork by noted scholars, including Alabama Center for Traditional Culture staff members, ethnomusicologist Steve Grauberger, and folklorists Deborah Boykin and Anne Kimzey.

To support Sacred Sounds and Sacred Places, physical and online exhibits dedicated to Alabama's traditional sacred music. The multimedia exhibits will use artifacts, photographs, audio, and video recordings to present the artistry of Sacred Harp, Christian Harmony, and Gospel Quartets.

To support traditional music programming at the Blue Ridge Music Center. The project will present concerts, lectures, and workshops celebrating music and dance traditions of the Appalachian Mountains, featuring local and regional talent, including NEA National Heritage Fellow Wayne Henderson.

To support Dutch Hop Film Documentation, a film and website presenting the traditional music and dance of the Volga German communities of western Nebraska, southeastern Wyoming, and northeastern Colorado. The film will trace the development of Dutch Hop music and dance, as well as present the tradition in different contexts, from public dances to private celebrations.

To support Yupiit Yuraryarait, a Yup'ik dance festival. Groups from remote Alaska Native villages will demonstrate songs and dances that pre-date contact with the Western world. As many as 24 dance groups will attract an estimated 1,200 audience members.

To support the Masters of Scottish Arts Concert and Celtic Arts Instructional Schools. The Celtic Arts Foundation will produce a concert of traditional music and dance performed by masters of Scottish bagpipes, Scottish-style drums, fiddling, and dance from the British Isles and Canada. Also, the master musicians will teach classes for aspiring musicians.

To support Shiva: Creation, Destruction, Preservation, a narrative dance about the royal court of North India. NEA National Heritage Fellow Pandit Chitresh Das will direct and choreograph a suite of works featuring dancers, master Indian musicians, and multimedia images.

To support the Augusta Heritage Center's Traditional Arts Program. The Traditional Arts Program will support programming that preserves the folk arts of West Virginia through workshops, performances, festivals, craft fairs, documentary projects, and outreach initiatives (including the "Mountain Dance Trail" promoting traditional square dances found in small towns across the state).

To support Masters of Traditional Arts Touch Screens. The project will create interactive kiosks and wall environments containing photographs, interviews, video, audio, and biographical texts about the 350 NEA National Heritage Fellows. The touch screens will update existing DVD kiosks and will be made available to museums, libraries, and cultural organizations nationwide.

To support Hossein Omoumi: Classical Persian Music from Isfahan to Irvine, an educational documentary featuring a master of the Persian reed flute. An educational handbook and a website will enhance the project.

The project will bring Alaskan Native artists to the museum for residencies, where they will demonstrate their art and share their culture with visitors. As many as 16 artists will present wood, ivory and silver carving, drum making, beading, skin sewing, basket, and textile weaving.

To support Artists at Work: Master Artists-in-Residence, a project featuring artists from Bali, Indonesia, and Kolkata, India. The guest artists will work with students to strengthen their skills and understanding of traditional Balinese music through creating a new work and reconstructing several traditional works.

To support the Heritage Spotlight Series, public events and school programs featuring Caribbean and South American folk artists of area ethnic communities. Artists nominated for the 2013 series include flamenco performers Paco and Celia Fonta, Haitian drummer Joseph Senatus, Peruvian music and dance ensemble Perú Expresión, junkanoo artists Bahamas Junkanoo Revue, and others. In addition, project activities will be documented through interviews, photographs, and videos, and then posted online as an educational resource.

Traditional Arts Indiana will create a series of exhibit panels featuring traditional artists that will travel to libraries across the state; present public programs such as concerts and workshops; and produce a website about the artists.

To support traditional music programming at the Laurel Theater that is also broadcast on local radio. Jubilee Community Arts will support fieldwork to identify, document, and present local traditional musicians, as well as present recognized regional and national traditional artists, such as NEA National Heritage Fellows Clyde Davenport, Ralph Stanley, and Kevin Burke.

Korean American Resource and Cultural Center (aka Spirits of Poongmul)

To support IlkwaNori International Joint Production, a concert of traditional Korean music and dance. The Korean American Resource and Cultural Center will bring as many as six dancers and musicians from Korea to offer instruction and a joint performance with local pungmul musicians.

To support outreach and technical assistance activities benefiting folk arts in education practitioners. This project will feature continuing publications and an online newsletter; adding more resource material to the website; hosting a professional development conference; and an ongoing commitment to Local Learning in Louisiana, a project in the state's public schools.

To support the Bluegrass Review radio show broadcast on KBEM-FM. The project will involve the production and promotion of a weekly program of bluegrass music, which includes information about the genre's history and aesthetics; interviews with artists and significant bluegrass figures; and in-depth commentary about the music.

To support the Annual Gathering of Basketweavers, Youth Weaving Programs and Mini- Gatherings. The Gathering offers an opportunity for indigenous weavers to showcase their basketry and participate in seminars about relevant issues, while other project activities provide learning opportunities for youth and adults in rural communities.
