FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support the Rhythm, Blues and All That Jazz Festival. The 5th annual festival is scheduled to be a six-day event culminating in a weekend of performances by blues, jazz, and roots musicians including blues singer Eric Bibb, saxophonist/vocalist/composer Grace Kelly, and soul singer Bettye LaVette. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the world premiere of Dartmoor Prison by Carlyle Brown. The play explores historical events at a British prison during the War of 1812; specifically a group of imprisoned African American sailors who were faced with the option of remaining loyal to the United States or joining forces with the British. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support the Augusta Heritage Center's Traditional Arts & Crafts Program. The project will document and present the folk arts of West Virginia through educational programs, including more than 200 workshops of traditional music, dance, and crafts.
