FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Local Arts Agencies To support the Audience Development Initiative (ADI) to develop the long-term sustainability of the arts in the greater Memphis community. The multi-faceted ADI will include workshops on audience development, an improved ticketing system, website enhancement, and the production of videos featuring local artists to be broadcast on ArtsMemphis's website and populated through YouTube. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support the creation of architectural studies and designs for the Rose School, home to the Rose Center & Council for the Arts. The council will work with the East Tennessee Design Center to develop plans for the continued preservation and use of the building, which was built in 1892 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Design To support the Zero Energy House symposium series. The series will convene regional architects, artists, craftsmen, tradespeople, historians, and engineers in a dialogue about the history and future of vernacular architecture of the Appalachian region.
