FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Dance To support the presentation of Treasures of the Ballet Russes, a celebration of the centennial anniversary of Serge Diaghilev's influential ballet company. The celebration will include performances of Bronislava Nijinska's Les Biches, George Balanchine's The Prodigal Son, and Michel Fokine's Polovetsian Dances. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support Cuban Fiesta - Two Musical Portraits of Cuba, a pair of concerts featuring NEA Jazz Master Paquito D'Rivera and Jorge Luis Prats. The concerts will serve as the culminating events for the festival and aid in expanding awareness of Latin American culture and heritage in the rural community. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the creation, production, and tour of Block 8, a new play by Matthew Ivan Bennett, directed by Artistic Director Jerry Rapier. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the July Theatre Lab for the development of new work by emerging and mid-career theater artists.
