To support documentation of and online access to the Claribel and Etta Cone Collection. The collection consists primarily of 19th and 20th century French art, including the largest body of works by Henri Matisse in the world.

To support a touring exhibition of watercolor paintings by James Tissot (French, 1836-1902) with accompanying catalogue and education program. The works, from the collection of the Brooklyn Museum, depict scenes from the New Testament Gospels.

To support the production and publication of a new full-color catalogue of the permanent collection and a companion DVD. Masterworks from the Butler Institute of American Art will be published on the occasion of the museum's 90th anniversary this year.

To support the Art Matters Collection Project, including the preparation and relocation of the museum's collections during large-scale renovation and expansion of its building.

Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts

To support a post-graduate internship in paper conservation. The project will involve training in the treatment of works on paper such as drawings, prints, and watercolors as well as manuscripts, maps, photographs, parchment, and books.

To support the publication of a handbook of selected works in the museum's permanent collection. This will be the museum's first major initiative to document and interpret its collection in a way that will have wide distribution and use.

To support reinstallation of the Ancient Middle Eastern Art Gallery. The project will result in the reopening of one of the last galleries in the museum's almost 10-year renovation program.

To support a touring exhibition of the work of American artist Robyn O'Neil (b.1977), with accompanying catalogue and education programs. Organized by the Des Moines Art Center, the exhibition will feature works drawn from the artist's recently completed seven-year narrative drawing series.

To support the conservation of works by American artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986) in the permanent collection. Project activities will include photographic documentation, technical analysis, and treatment of a select group of paintings spanning the artist's career.

To support the First Impressions Community Outreach program in collaboration with Very Special Arts of Florida. The project provides free arts programming for the general public as well as Pinellas County elementary school students.

To support a touring retrospective exhibition of drawings by American artist Pat Steir (b.1940), with accompanying catalogue and education programs. To support the preparation and publication of a catalogue of the University Art Gallery's Richard Brown Baker collection, which comprises 1,285 works. Baker (1912-2002, B.A. 1935) began to collect the work of emerging artists in 1941 and collected actively during the next 50 years.
