Arts and Visually Impaired Audiences

To support a series of audio production workshops and mentorships for visually impaired adults and youth. The program will introduce visually impaired people to the creative possibilities and latest techniques of audio production.

To support post-production costs for a documentary film by Elizabeth Mandel, Beth Davenport, and Katy Chevigny. A collaboration with Mapendo International, Rose and Nangabire (working title) will tell the story of a mother and daughter separated because of the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo and their recent reunion.

To support America Listens, a program of professional development services for independent radio producers. Activities will include mentorships, residencies, and workshops.

To support SWAP: Squeaky Wheel Access Program. The 23-year-old program provides media equipment access, low-cost workshops, artist residencies, and resource services to film and video artists locally and nationally.

To support the Third Coast International Audio Festival and related activities. Established by Chicago Public Radio in 2001 as a "Sundance for Radio," the festival provides an opportunity for documentarians, feature reporters, and audio artists from around the globe to gather and share their expertise, and for listeners to hear the best work currently being produced.
