To support a mainstage production of Wanda's World, a new "tween" musical with book by Eric H. Weinberger and music and lyrics by Beth Falcone. The production is targeted to children between the ages of 10 and 13 and will be directed and choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

To support the development and world premiere production of Yeast Nation: The Triumph of Life. The new musical by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann, creators of the Broadway hit Urinetown, will explore America's responsibility to its environment in a satirical rock musical format.

To support the creation and world premiere production of The Best is Yet to Come: The Music of Cy Coleman, a new musical revue at the Rubicon Theater Company. Tony and Drama Desk Award-winner and Coleman collaborator David Zippel will create and direct the adaptation.

To support a revival of the Tony Award-winning musical Pippin by Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson. The theater will partner with Deaf West Theatre Company to develop and co-produce a new sign language adaptation of the musical which debuted on Broadway in 1972.

To support the development and production of U:bug:Me, a new folk rock musical for young audiences by writer/composer/arranger Jeremiah Clay Neal. The project will be developed as part of the Coterie Theater's Lab for New Family Musicals.

To support an artistic collaboration to develop a contemporary musical that blends hip-hop dance and music with Japanese anime storytelling. Artistic director Tim Dang will direct with choreographer Jason T. Chong and composer Marc Macalintal to create an urban multicultural work, with accompanying outreach activities and staged readings.

To support a new musical based on Roald Dahl's 1982 book James and the Giant Peach, with Timothy McDonald as bookwriter, choreography by Pilobolus Dance Theatre, and new songs by composer Paul Williams. The production will combine physical theater traditions with a work of the golden age of musicals and accompanying educational and outreach activities.

To support the production and new staging of the musical Caroline, or Change (2004) by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer/playwright Tony Kushner and Jeannine Tesori. Marcella Lorca will direct the musical masterwork on the Guthrie's Wurtele thrust stage with accompanying education and outreach activities.

To support the commissioning and world premiere of a musical adaptation of Heidi (1880). Playwright Marty De Silva and composer/lyricist Joan Cushing will collaborate on the production to bring the classic tale by Johanna Spyri to a new generation of audiences.

To support a production of Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady as part of a Great American Musical series, with accompanying educational activities. Artistic director Richard Corley will direct the musical with pre- and post-show talkbacks and performances for area high school students.

The theater has commissioned the artistic team of Steve Garfinkel (book) and Ezra Idlet and Keith Grimwood (music, lyrics, and creators of Trout Fishing in America) to create a new work for families about manners.

To support the New Works Festival at North Shore Music Theatre. Previously unproduced musicals will be featured in readings and staged workshop productions, and new works will be evaluated for a mainstage production in an upcoming season.

Northwestern students will collaborate with Chicago's House Theater professional ensemble to create a new coming of age musical that explores gender and the social tensions of the American teenager.

To support the development and tour of a musical comedy titled Fifty Sense. During its 50th anniversary season, the Tony Award-winning company will develop and produce an entertaining comedy that explores the similarities between the present and 1959 when the company was founded.

To support the world premiere production of the musical Giant, based on the novel written in 1952, with music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa and book by Sybille Pearson. Artistic director Eric Schaeffer will direct the work based on the novel by Edna Ferber for 17 actors, a 12-person design team, and a 21-piece orchestra.

To support the creation and production of Tango in Hot Salsa/Tango en Salsa Picante, a new musical fusing the tango and salsa genres of music and dance with American musical theater.
