MONTANA Art Mobile of Montana Dillon, MT $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts To support ArtMobile. A specially equipped van will travel throughout the state, providing access to original art works by Montana artists and art instruction. Helena Presents (aka Myrna Loy Center) Helena, MT $25,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Presenting To support a series of commissioning and residency projects at the Myrna Loy Center. American and international guest artists will create new works in collaboration with local and regional artists. MCT, Inc. (aka Missoula Children's Theatre) Missoula, MT $20,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Musical Theater To support the MCT Tour Project. Touring musical theater performing arts residencies will be offered to K-12 children nationwide. Missoula Writing Collaborative Missoula, MT $25,000 CATEGORY: Learning in the Arts FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Learning in the Arts for Children & Youth To support a writing residency program. The project will place writers in rural, low-income, and/or tribal reservation schools for seven-month weekly writing sessions with students, ages 7 to 18. Montana Arts Council Helena, MT $609,500 CATEGORY: Partnership FIELD/DISCIPLINE: State & Regional To support Partnership Agreement activities. Montana Committee for the Humanities (aka MCH) Missoula, MT $15,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support the Montana Festival of the Book. More than 100 regional authors will read and discuss their work at selected venues, reaching an estimated audience of as many as 5,000. Montana State University (on behalf of Montana Shakespeare in the Parks) Bozeman, MT $25,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support a summer tour of classical theater productions. Montana Shakespeare in the Parks will tour plays to rural and underserved communities throughout Montana, northern Wyoming, and eastern Idaho. Tundra Club Bozeman, MT $15,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Media Arts To support the production and national distribution of (((Hearing Voices))), a series of radio art specials. The seven hour-long programs will present classic works combined with new stories created by established and emerging radio producers.
