INDIANA Evansville Philharmonic Orchestral Corp. Evansville, IN $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Music To support In-School Concerts for children and Music for Life Concerts for senior citizens. The school concerts will reach elementary and middle school children in 10 schools, and six concerts for seniors are planned. Fort Wayne Dance Collective, Inc. (on behalf of Three River Jenbe Ensemble) Fort Wayne, IN $20,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support workshops on traditional West African drum and dance. The project will feature master drummer Alsyco Diabate and master dancer Moustapha Bangoura. Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, Inc. (aka Fort Wayne Philharmonic) Fort Wayne, IN $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Music To support Unplugged, an informal classical music concert series. The concerts, hosted by a local celebrity, will feature casually dressed orchestra members under live video images projected on a large screen. Indiana Arts Commission Indianapolis, IN $632,100 CATEGORY: Partnership FIELD/DISCIPLINE: State & Regional To support Partnership Agreement activities. Indiana Repertory Theatre, Inc. (Consortium) Indianapolis, IN $30,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the development, production, and community outreach activities associated with the play Interpreting William by James Still. A partnership with the Conner Prairie Museum, the world premiere play will explore the life of mythic 19th-century frontiersman William Conner. Indiana Symphony Society, Inc. Indianapolis, IN $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Media Arts To support the production and distribution of the radio series Indianapolis On-The-Air. Featuring the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the 13-part series is heard on more than 250 radio stations. Indiana Symphony Society, Inc. Indianapolis, IN $20,000 CATEGORY: Learning in the Arts FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Learning in the Arts for Children & Youth To support Arts Everyday. Serving six schools in four school districts, the music education program is expected to provide in-school arts instruction for 2,700 elementary students and more than 130 classroom teachers. Young Audiences of Indiana, Inc. (aka YA) Indianapolis, IN $20,000 CATEGORY: Learning in the Arts FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Learning in the Arts for Children & Youth To support the Summer Arts for Youth (SAY) program. Economically disadvantaged youth, ages six to 11, in eight Indianapolis community sites will participate in multidisciplinary arts and literature activities as part of the curriculum. Young Audiences of Indiana, Inc. (Consortium) Indianapolis, IN $45,000 CATEGORY: Learning in the Arts FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Learning in the Arts for Children & Youth To support Young-at-Arts. In partnership with the Day Nursery Association, professional artists who are trained and experienced in early childhood arts education will lead age-appropriate learning experiences in music, dance, theater, and visual arts.
