OKLAHOMA Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Inc. Oklahoma City, OK $15,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts
To support Articulate, a commissioning and exhibition opportunity for Oklahoma artists. As many as six artists will receive an honorarium, a venue for exhibition, and logistical, administrative, and conceptual support to develop their work. The artists will also be included in a publication about the program.
Pawnee Tribe of Oklahoma Pawnee, OK $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support an artist-in-residence program in Native Pawnee storytelling, painting, and pottery making. The project will culminate in lectures, exhiitions and performances. Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Inc. Tulsa, OK $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Dance To support the presentation of Por Vos Muero by Nacho Duato; Troy Game by Robert North; and Nine Sinatra Songs by Twyla Tharp. The program, titled Legends in Motion, will take place at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Tulsa Opera, Inc. Tulsa, OK $20,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Opera To support An American Trilogy as part of the Oklahoma Centennial Celebration. The company will produce Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, Robert Ward's The Crucible, and an adaptation of David Carlson's Dreamkeepers, titled The Trail of Tears Oratorio.
