MONTANA Archie Bray Foundation Helena, MT $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts To support a visiting artist residency program. An exhibition will feature representative work by participating artists; public programs and demonstrations will complement the residencies. Intermountain Opera Association of Bozeman Bozeman, MT $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Opera To support performances of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) and related educational activities. Three performances will take place at Willson Auditorium utilizing a core group of professional singers, augmented by instrumentalists and singers from the local community. University of Montana (on behalf of Montana Museum of Art and Culture) Missoula, MT $20,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support a touring exhibition of the work of contemporary Native American artist George Longfish (b. 1942, Seneca, Tuscarora), with accompanying catalogue and artist-in-residence program. The project will present the artist's work from the last 35 years and will include the commissioning of a new work for the Montana Museum's collection.
