To support an audience development initiative for Boulder County. Select cultural organizations--including the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and Old Firehouse Arts Center--will participate in a planning process designed to better coordinate audience development strategies.

Bravo! Colorado at Vail-Beaver Creek (Bravo!Vail Valley Music Festival)

To support the 19th annual Vail Valley Music Festival, which will feature chamber and orchestral concerts, a commissioned work, open rehearsals, public workshops, and educational outreach concerts. Three orchestras will be in residence during the festival, including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.

To support a production of The Ballad of Baby Doe by Douglas Moore, originally commissioned by the opera in 1946. Educational and outreach activities will include Opera 101, a series of lectures and symposia, in collaboration with Colorado Public Radio and the Denver Public Library, designed to introduce new audiences to opera.

To support EcoArts Festival, a consortium project aimed at increasing awareness of environmental issues through the arts. Presented in collaboration with the American Solar Energy Society and hosted by three Colorado cities, the festival will bring together artists, scientists, and environmentalists in collaborative performances, exhibitions, and children's workshops.

To support the 29th Denver International Film Festival. Festival programming includes the screening of contemporary, classic, and experimental films, tributes to significant film artists, a salute to a national cinema, a junior film critics program, educational screenings for local students, the screening of classic and experimental films, seminars, and workshops.

To support the American Academy of Conducting. The summer institute for 20 post-conservatory conductors will engage participants in a comprehensive, professional development training program including master classes at the Aspen Opera theater Center, and composition and film scoring classes.
