To support a needs assessment and cultural inventory as preliminary steps toward the development of a cultural plan. The project will include the creation of a comprehensive catalogue of Martin County arts and cultural assets, an economic impact statement, and a needs assessment using both qualitative interviews and a quantitative survey to solicit comments from the general public.

To support an audience development initiative for Boulder County. Select cultural organizations--including the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and Old Firehouse Arts Center--will participate in a planning process designed to better coordinate audience development strategies.

To support the Artist Venture Initiative. This pilot program will introduce Web-based marketing for approximately 40 artists who have previously received support through Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) artist initiatives.

To support an e-marketing program, a regional shared calendar database, and electronic advertisements for cultural events and organizations. Arts programming within the South Florida counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach will be highlighted in this multi-pronged marketing initiative.

To support a Creative Communities Institute. The Institute will assist residents of Maine's midcoast in the development of a plan to expand the region's arts, culture, and heritage activities.

To support an arts district planning process. This arts district planning study will build on priorities articulated in the current citywide cultural and master plans and will lead to the development of the Islington Street Arts District.

City of Austin, Texas (on behalf of Economic Growth & Redevelopment Services Office, Cultural Arts Division)

To support a community-wide cultural planning process. The Cultural Arts Division will work with a broad range of cultural industry resources in the development of a plan to strengthen and sustain Austin's fast-growing arts resources. Serving a population of 1.3 million, the Cultural Arts Division supported nearly 200 artists and cultural organizations last year.

To support an electronic marketing initiative. The two-part initiative includes an online events calendar, PhillyFunGuide.com, and FunSavers, an e-mail program offering last minute, half-price tickets for events by the region's nonprofit cultural organizations.

Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation

To support Peer Coaching Circles. With the guidance of trained facilitators, Illinois-based local arts agency staff members will acquire skills enabling them to better meet operational challenges. Peer Coaching Circles will be provided in up to eight communities with limited access to professional development opportunities.

To support the Kentucky Peer Advisory Network (KPAN). KPAN provides low-cost technical assistance to nonprofit arts organizations, community groups, and schools that offer arts programming throughout Kentucky.

To support the Collaborative Cultural Audience Development Initiative. A consultant will work with arts organizations within the Council's Missouri and Kansas service area to refine or develop marketing plans, implement collaborative efforts, and measure the results of these activities.

Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies

To support a series of state-wide workshops focusing on arts management, economic development, and cultural leadership initiatives. Regional and state-wide meetings will provide direct services for cultural arts staff, boards, and volunteers.

Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies

To support online services including audience development and marketing for rural community arts agencies. Participating organizations will receive assistance in the development of Web sites for their organizations, as well as access to the information and services provided by the Association.

South Dakotans for the Arts (Consortium)

A consortium project to support the Prairie Arts Management Institute (PAMI). In partnership with the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies, PAMI provides intensive training for executive directors and staff of small and mid-sized arts organizations from the "prairie states" of Middle America.

To support An Action Plan for Southern Arizona's Cultural Economy. The planning process will include a needs assessment and cultural inventory of Tucson and Pima County, followed by the development of an actionable plan.
