To provide teacher training, artist mentoring, and mechanisms
that promote the linkage between the media-making community and the
educational system, so that:
- Teachers and students demonstrate knowledge of media arts,
- Students demonstrate an interest in media arts as a career, and
- Schools demonstrate media literacy
OUTCOME #1: Teachers demonstrate use
of media tools in classroom
Indicators:
- # and % of teachers who identify media equipment appropriate to
their
classroom needs; AND
- # and % of teachers who plan to incorporate media tools in their
classroom; AND
- # and % of teachers who order media equipment during the school
year;
AND
- # and % of teachers who use media equipment at least three times
during the school year
OUTCOME #2: Students demonstrate knowledge
of media literacy
Indicators:
- # and % of students who score "x" or above on the media
literacy test;
AND
- # and % of students who present their media-art product at the school
sponsored event
OUTCOME #3: Students demonstrate interest
in seeking a career in the media arts
Indicators:
- # and % of young artists asking (the Media Arts Center) to provide
them with a mentor; AND
- # and % of young artists who indicate that they are interested in
a
media arts career
OUTCOME #4: Schools demonstrate media
literacy
Indicators:
- # and % of schools that integrate media arts into their curricula;
OR
- # and % of schools that make public presentations of student-produced
media art.
