Purpose:
To provide ballet technique training, humanities, life-skills
instruction, and opportunities to observe live dance performances to third
grade students in (city, state) public schools so that students:
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in ballet technique
- Demonstrate interest in ballet
- Demonstrate importance of arts in life and learning
- Develop acceptable social interaction skills and behaviors
OUTCOME #1: Demonstrate knowledge and
skill in ballet technique
Indicators:
- # and % of students who identify X ballet terms, AND;
- # and % of students who identify at least X (number) well known
ballets, AND
- # and % of students who describe the story line (when appropriate)
of X ballets
OUTCOME #2: Demonstrate ballet
technique
Indicators:
- # and % of students who identify X ballet positions, AND
- # and % of students who perform X basic ballet steps correctly
OUTCOME #3: Demonstrate interest in
learning about ballet
Indicators:
- # and % of students who read X stories about ballet in X months,
OR
- # and % of students who watch X ballet performances (either in
person or on tape) in X months, OR
- # and % of students who take ballet lessons for X months
OUTCOME #4: Demonstrate knowledge of
the relationship between the arts and life experiences
