 | The first NCA meeting was held in Washington, D.C. on April 9-10, 1965. | In 1964, a year before President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act into law, Congress established the National Council on the Arts (NCA) as the nation's advisory board on the arts. These photos of the earliest NCA meetings are from the archives of R.
